There is no alternative. The question is how will a government bureaucrat decide what or who gets what and how much.The estimate a month ago of the cost of Obamacare was $800 billion over 10 years. After the vote, the cost had increased 50% to 1.2 trillion. The only thing that has never been discussed in the whole "health-care reform" debate is a free market system. Before everyone jumps in and tells me that a free market system would never work, just be advised we have not had a free market health care system for over 100 years. The AMA limits the supply of doctors by limiting the number of schools that are accredited for medical training. The drug companies limit supplies by patents providing monoply pricing and limiting production. The FDA limits/restricts the use of new drugs on a whim. Health insurance companies are required to pool all risks so the price for insurance is higher to compensated for high risk users. They are also faced with 50 different state regulations to deal with. Licensing requirements, although do not guarantee quality, restrict who can provide various services. I could go on but it is a complete waste of time. Nobody cares about the cost of health care as long as the "government" is paying for it.
