@crosaks: The entire family had gone away on a family vacation, visiting the husbands parents & grandfather. The wife flew back home a couple days early, while her husband and their young son remained. The guy who committed the crime knew the family, knew how to get into the house, and knew there was a safe with a fair amount of cash in it. He knew they were away on vacation and didn't realize she'd come home early. He broke into the house in the middle of the night and apparently woke her up. She came down to investigate the noise he was making and that's when he killed her.
