Let me ask you this, if all of the poor people suddenly quit their jobs and started subsistence living off the land, how long before the rich people in society would literally starve? They LIVE off the labor of the poor and middle class, the numbers in their bank accounts really are inconsequential to what they do for society. That said, nobody is talking about anything unreasonable here, only rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the richest of the rich, the top 0.3%. Even then, only income in excess of $500,000 ($1 million by some versions) will be subject to the 39.5% tax rate, which is the same it was under Clinton.Society will not collapse, life will go on, and the rich will continue to make their precious money so they can buy more boats and that third manor on the coast.
That would be a logical assumption. However Microsoft frequently ignores both logic and reason.

Umm...making nuclear bombs isn't a generator of power. It takes resources and energy to construct a bomb and refine the material...just mining the uranium and using it in a reactor would be far more energy effecient.

"I wanna know how black people eating watermelon is racist. Watermelon is delicious." It's not in itself. Nothing like eating watermelon should be considered racist. But unfortunately there is a history behind it, most likely due to the fact that slaves were given cheaper food like chitlins as well as watermelon. So associating black people with watermelon became sort of a "racist trademark" if you will. The hypocrisy in it though is that basically anyone who even associates a black person with watermelon will be accused of racism even if they had no idea about the contextual history. This happened recently with a soda company who put a white boy and black girl on a watermelon flavored soda. Even though they had a white kid on it too, they were automatically accused of racism. So basically the rule is, you can't show black people with watermelon or it's racist. Apparently KFC gets a pass because they frequently have commercials with black people eating fried chicken. I REALLY wish we could get past the idea that every stereotype has racist intentions and that different groups of people do enjoy different things for different reason. At this point it's really more of a cultural issue and is no more racist then suggesting white males enjoy Nascar. Intentions are what are racist, not watermelon, fried chicken, or Nascar. |
